The Grand Salon

The Grand Salon project is based on an existing 1700s French room, which was transplanted from Paris to a gallery in the Minneapolis Institute of Art.

My goal with this project was to 3D model an interior room that matched an existing space as closely as possible. I have posted the reference photos for comparison as well. The photographs were taken inside of the Grand Salon exhibit inside of the Minneapolis Institute of Art museum. The project was executed in Blender, and further post processing was done in Photoshop.

"Jean Gaillard de La Boxier, a royal tax collector under France’s King Louis XV, originated the panelled interior of this room circa 1735, when he renovated his house near Place Vendome, in Paris." (MIA written description)
